We build schools sustainably
At School Infrastructure, we build our schools for the future to ensure our sites and buildings not only reduce their environmental impact but also withstand and respond to climate change over time.
Embedding sustainable design, eco-friendly materials and responsible construction guidelines with local knowledge and educational principles helps us deliver healthy, efficient, resilient and environmentally responsible educational facilities for future generations.
A focussed approach to sustainability not only helps protect our surroundings, it also minimises disruptions to teaching and learning and limits costly repairs and maintenance over time.

Measuring our impact
We have set clear measurement targets for all our new, major school infrastructure capital work projects over $10 million and greater than 1,000m² of new building which include:
- Achieving 5 Star Green Star certified ratings for projects in the Sydney, Wollongong and Newcastle metropolitan areas.
- Achieving 4 Star Green Star certified ratings for projects in the rest of NSW due to cost and supply chain constraints.
